Plywood Price Reduction – China Have Increased Export Tax Refund(Exemption) Rates For Plywood & Film Faced Plywood

China has increased Export Tax Refund(Exemption) Rates for plywood, film faced plywood from 5% to 9% . The new policy will take effect from December 01, 2008 . The prices of Chinese plywood, film faced plywood will decrease by about 3~4% of FOB price from Dec. 01, 2008 because of this new policy .  This will act as a stimulant to the growth of plywood industry.

In 2006, the Tax Refund Rate for plywood decreased from 13% to 11% . On July.01,2007, the Refund Rate decreased further to 5% . For more information, please refer to my post last year: The price for China plywood will rise at least 6% from July.01,2007

This’ a piece of good news for plywood importers . Because of the global economical & financial crisis, now the plywood market is depressed . Suppliers may consider reducing the prices by more than 3~4% in the near future .

This time, the Tax Refund Rates for some other products such as blockboard, timber beam , have also been increased , which means the prices for these Chinese products will also decrease .

If you want to import plywood , film faced plywood and other products from China in the near future, now it’s just the time to negotiate new prices with your Chinese suppliers .
